State Government's Women and Child Development Department has provided training to more than 27 thousand girls under Kishori Shakti Yojana. Under the scheme, girl beneficiaries were selected under Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) and provided training in subjects such as health and nutrition, education, life skills, home management, legal rights of women, parenting techniques etc. These beneficiaries were also provided health checkup facility, iron-folic acid (IFA) tablet, anti-biotic. Beneficiary girls are also taken on visit to health centres, banks, post offices, police stations, schools, panchayat raj institutions, government offices, public transport facilities etc. Main activities organized under the scheme include organizing 'Kishori Diwas', associating school drop-out teenage girls to mainstream of education and providing professional training. It is noteworthy that Kishori Shakti Yojana is being implemented in 17 districts of the state. Training under this scheme is being provided in those districts, where Sabla Yojana is not under implementation.
