39 important bridges constructed in the current year at the cost of 159 crore

To ensure smooth systematic transport facility in remote rural areas of Chhattisgarh, State Government has accelerated the construction of bridges and culverts as per requirement. In the current fiscal year 2016-17, Public Works Department (PWD) has completed the construction of 39 important bridges in rural areas of state. PWD Minister Mr. Rajesh Moonat informed that nearly 158 crores 78 lakhs have been spent on construction of all these bridges.

This includes construction of eight bridges in Raipur Division at the cost of Rs 26 crore 31 lakh. PWD has constructed bridge on Tuwas River on Tuwasmal Gohrapadar Road, on Khorsi Nala between village Lutidih and Paraswani in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district at the cost of Rs one crore 96 lakh, on Jamunaiya Nala at Bitkuli-Jangada at the cost of Rs two crore 50 lakh, on Kosamsara Nala of Sirpur-Baldakachhar road of Kasdol at the cost of Rs one crore, on Kosmasara Nala of Sirpur-Baldakachar route of Kasdol. Likewise, bridges have also been constructed on from Khapri (Jarvaydih) to approach road Bhaisbod of Dhamtari district at the cost of Rs four crore, on Ghordagi Nala of Kurridhih-Peeparchedi route Sihava at the cost of Rs two crore 50 lakh, on Sondhur River Saraibhadar-Jadjada-Gariaband road at the cost of Rs 10 crore 18 lakh, and also on Sivnikala Nala at Kurud Charmudiya Chivri route at the cost of Rs 2 crore 25 lakh.

Likewise, six bridges have been constructed in Rajnandgaon Division with an expenditure of Rs 29 crore 32 lakh. This includes the bridge constructed on Amner River at Mudpar to Gadia Mahamaya route in Durg district at the cost of Rs two crore 90 lakh, the one built on River Aagar at Kui to Kukdoor route of Pandariya in Kabeerdham (Kawardha) district at the cost of Rs four crore 30 lakh and also the one constructed on River Sakri at Derhi to Pandariya route of Kawardha  at the cost of Rs four crore 30 lakh. PWD has built bridges on Shivnath River at Bharregaon Raveli Rajnandgaon route at the cost of Rs 11 crore 50 lakh, on Bakal River of Paneka Road at the cost of Rs 4 crore 32 lakh and also on Bhojtola -Marri route in Rajnandgaon district with an expenditure of Rs two crore 30 lakh.

Similarly, six bridges have been constructed by PWD in Bastar division at the cost of Rs 27 crore 54 lakh, 10 important bridges have been constructed in Bilaspur Division at the cost of Rs 53 crore 19 lakh, and two bridges at the cost of Rs six crore 25 lakh have been constructed by PWD in Rajgarh division. Seven bridges have been constructed with an expenditure of Rs 16 crore 17 lakh in bridge division Sarguja.
