Contractors working in the industries of Chhattisgarh will now be able to get their license issued easily, also there would be no stress of license renewal every year.To promote industry and commerce in the state, the complex procedures of the Labour Department have been simplified under 'Ease of Doing Business', on Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel's initiative. Not only the license issuance procedure has been simplified but also the contractors have been relieved of the mandatory annual renewal of the license. Now the planners and contractors will not have to go all the way to office to submit application. They can easily submit application online and also pay the required fees and carges online.
For this new system, necessary amendments in Contractual Labourer (Regulation and Production) Chhattisgarh Rule 1973 under Contractual Labourer (Regulation and Production) Act 1970 have been published in the gazette, under the guidance of Labour Minister Dr Shiv Kumar Dahariya, and suggestions in the context have been invited within 30 days.
Principal Secretary of Labour Department Mr. Subodh Kumar Singh informed that earlier it was mandatory for all the small-large scale contractors to get their licenses renewed every year under Contractual Labourer (Regulation and Production), because of which every year a large number of contractors had to rush to government offices for license renewal before December 1st every year. In the new format, the entire procedure of registration by Chief Coordinator and license issuance to contractors has been made online. This would ensure transparency and also save time. He told that till date, the licenses issued used to get expired by December 31, but as per the newly proposed format, now the contract license issued would be valid for the duration the applicant has applyed for.
