As per the instructions of Chief Minister, senior officers of Chief Minister's Secretariat are frequently visiting various districts of the state to inspect the implementation of State Government's priority schemes. In the same sequence, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrat Sahu and Special Secretary Dr. S. Bharathidasan visited Janjgir-Champa district today and took stock of the implementation of State Government's flagship schemes, especially Suraji Gaon Yojana, Narva, Garua, Ghurua, Bari programme. They inspected several Gauthans of the district and took information about the activities conducted there. During the inspection visit, the officials appreciated the income-oriented activities being conducted by the women self-help groups in Khokhra Gauthan of Nawagarh block. While inspecting Taraud Gauthan of Akaltara block, apathy in maintenance of hay for livestock fodder and negligence in construction works came to the fore. Taking action on the issues, Senior Officers issued show cause notice to the Chief Executive Officer of Janpad Panchayat Akaltara. Meanwhile, Collector Mr. Jitendra Kumar Shukla, Chief Executive Officer of District Panchayat Mr. Gajendra Singh and other departmental officers were also present.

During the inspection of Khokhra Gauthan in Akaltara block and Taroud, Amora, Kirari gauthans of Nawagarh blocks, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrat Sahu interacted with the members of women self-help groups and directed the officers to compulsorily conduct at least five income-oriented activities in each Gauthans including production of vermi compost. This will lead to socio-economic empowerment of women, he said.  In model Gauthan Khokhra, women self-help groups are producing mushrooms, manufacturing phenyl and doormat, along with production of vermi-compost. Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Sahu and Special Secretary Dr. Bharathidasan inspected the goods produced by women groups and appreciated the quality of phenyl, doormats made by them. In Khokhra, three women self-help groups have acheived financial self-sufficiency through the economic activities of Gauthans. He also observed the Napier grass planted in 10 acres area to provide green fodder for animals in gauthans and praised the efforts of the women groups and gauthan Samiti. On the occasion, Additional Chief Secretary and Special Secretary along with other officers planted jackfruit and mango saplings in the gauthan. Additional Chief Secretary and Special Secretary also inspected the Higher Secondary School located in village Bhainso of Pamgarh block and asked children about their education. He instructed the school principal and the teachers to pay special attention towards sanitation and cleanliness in the premise, and directed them to ensure strict adherence to COVID prevention protocol in the school.
